In the summer of 2006, Northeast Alabama Community College Theatre produced The Foreigner for the first time. Since then, regulars of the theatre have almost unanimously crowned it as the most gut-busting production that’s ever been performed on the Ann Everett Stage.
This July, Mark Webb & Co. are reviving the local legend. Fresh on the heels of the Stephen Sondheim classic Into the Woods, the production’s cast will feature a blend of fresh and familiar faces, with Clint LeRoy reprising the lead role of Charlie.
THE STORY
Depressed because his wife may be dying, Charlie Baker pretends to be a foreigner from an exotic land while visiting a fishing resort in rural Georgia. The staff and guests of the lodge, intrigued by such a man, begin divulging secrets to the stranger, who they believe cannot understand a word they are saying. Hilarity ensues.
