RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The Northeast Alabama Community College student veteran association (NSVA) sponsors, officers, and members raised money during the college’s Veteran Appreciation Week through a bake sale and silent auction. Many local business owners donated to the silent auction which helped to raise more money than last year. A total of $2,300 was raised this year, which was about $1,550 more than last year.
Each year the NSVA partners with the Northeast Alabama Marine Corp league to find local veterans in financial need. For the past two years, only one veteran in the area was helped. This year, with the large increase, both organizations hope to help several veterans in need.
