Sand Mountain Park will be hosting Freezin’ for a Reason: Police vs. Fire Challenge on New Year’s Day to raise funds for The Miracle League of Albertville. The event will be on January 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sand Mountain Park’s Outdoor Waterpark.

This year, the Albertville Police Department and Albertville Fire and Rescue participate in a chilly friendly competition. The showdown consists of whichever department can raise $2,000 first, the opposing Chief will take a chilly plunge, but if both departments raise a combined total of $10,000, Albertville Mayor Tracy Honea will join in and take the plunge as well.

General entry will cost $45, and all proceeds go directly to fund upcoming projects for the Miracle League Field. Your participation helps meet needs, including building handicap-accessible bathrooms at Miracle Field, upgrading concessions, and much more.
