MC Commission hold first meeting without Chairman Reed

Story By Mary Bailey

Last Wednesday the Marshall County Commission gathered for their last meeting for the month of June, a first without newly elected Chairman David Reed.

The mood was somber as the Commission did it’s best to carry on with business for the county.

Joey Baker, Marshall County Commissioner for District 4 proceeded over the meeting.

“Good morning, everybody. Honestly, I don’t know how we are going to manage, well, I do know how we are going to manage, we are going to keep right on going. First and foremost, I want to, from the Marshall County family I want to send out our heartfelt wishes and condolences to the Reed family,” said Commissioner Baker. “David Reed wanted to be called David, and he was a good man. He didn’t have an agenda, but he had a vision for the county and his vision was to get us all working together as a family. I just hope and pray that we all come together and honor his wishes. David was a good man.”
