Southern Torch was honored to host Leadership DeKalb for breakfast on Tuesday, September 12.
Leadership DeKalb is a nine-month program with the purpose of providing enhanced educational opportunities designed to promote and build leadership within DeKalb County. Each month students of the program learn about various topics, including local government and the media that covers them, tourism, education, health and special services, economic development, State government, agriculture, and public safety.
Southern Torch spoke to the students about their media outlets, including three newspapers, two radio stations, and its online presence. Students were given the opportunity to be a guest on the 98-3 Wild Country Morning Radio Show and tour the facilities which features the archives of newspapers dating back to the 1800s.
