Groat makes another cut in a Tournament this summer

Current Fort Payne Senior JP Groat mades another cut in a tournament this summer. This past week Groat competed in the Press Thornton Future Masters in Dothan at Dothan Country Club. 

On Thursday during the opening round, Groat collected birdies on the first two holes on the front line and on 11 and 15 on the back nine but with double-bogeys on eight and 18 resulted in a opening round of even par. 

With a 3-over round of 73 on Friday, Groat made the cut by six shots. 

Groat posted a final round 4-over 74 on Saturday to finished the event Tied for 58th with a score of 7-over 217.

Groat continues his busy summer with his next event in Huntsville, starting on July 7 with the America Junior Golf Association Huntsville Junior Amateur. The tournament will be at Huntsville Country Club. This will be his final tournament before heading to Dallas for the USGA Junior Amateur on July 21.
