RAINSVILLE, ALA - Residents of DeKalb and Jackson counties might be
surprised to know they do not have to travel to Chattanooga, Huntsville, or
Birmingham for problems such as; thin eyelashes, sagging neck skin, age
spots, wrinkles, unwanted hair, sinus pressure, or aching feet. Penny's From
Heaven Spa addresses these problems and more with an extensive menu of
treatments.
Penny's From Heaven offers both spa and medical treatments. The medical
treatments are under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey R. Cole, MD and the spa is
under the supervision of the business owner, Penny Ogle. Ogle is a licensed
Esthetician and instructor.
Unlike most spas, Penny's From Heaven has a salt cave with over 2,000 pounds
of 100 percent Himalayan salt. This treatment is called halotherapy and
dates back hundreds of years. Advocates of halotherapy say this process of
inhaling microscopic salt particles absorbs irritants, including allergens
and toxins, from the respiratory system and reduces inflammation by breaking
up mucus and therefore opens airways. Additional treatment for sinus
sufferers includes a 30-minute sinus massage.
The massage menu offers Swedish, manual lymphatic drainage, deep tissue, hot
stone, cold stone, prenatal, reflexology, aromatherapy, halo salt therapy,
and cupping or fire cupping massage. Cupping therapy is an ancient
alternative medicine in which special cups are placed on the skin for a few
minutes to create suction. Supporters of the procedure say it helps with
inflammation, chronic pain, blood flow, and relaxation. It is considered a
type of deep-tissue massage.
Spas are known for their "getting away from it all" treatments. Other
restorative therapies include a detox foot spa, body scrubs, tranquil
lavender mud wrap, revitalizing citrus body wrap, and rose-infused body
treatment.
The maintenance menu for physical appearance offers; eyelash extensions,
brow shading/Ombre, brow microblading, facials, dermaplaning, permanent
makeup, tanning bed, and sunless tanning, and hair removal procedures. The
unwanted hair removal menu is extensive and offers both laser and wax
services. Dermaplaning can help minimize the appearance of acne scars, fine
lines, wrinkles, and ease hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tones.
The skincare and makeup line jane iredale and CoolSculpting are also
offered. CoolSculpting targets areas such as sagging necks and upper arms,
and other areas by reducing unwanted fat cells.
Holiday Open House will be held on November 11-12th. A new menu item will be
introduced at the open house. "Our new menu item will be a huge surprise,"
said Ogle. "We will also have our traditional grab bags, gift giveaways, and
