Fyffe, Geraldine and Valley Head Receive Books from Library of Congress

Washington, D.C. — Three schools in DeKalb County are receiving books from the Library of Congress. The more than 200-year-old institution recently made books from its collection available to local schools through Congressional offices.

Members of Congressman Aderholt’s Washington staff recently went to the Library of Congress and chose books to send to Geraldine, Fyffe and Valley Head schools. Each school will receive several boxes of books. The books cover various topics and areas of study.

The schools were chosen at random, but if other schools are interested in receiving books from the Library of Congress they can contact Congressman Aderholt’s Cullman office at (256) 734-6043 to check on availability. In addition to the schools in DeKalb County, schools in Cullman, Franklin and Marion counties also received books.

In Washington, Congressman Aderholt serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies for the powerful House Appropriations Committee; he is also a member of the Committee’s Defense Subcommittee, the Committee’s Commerce, Justice, and Science Subcommittee, and the Helsinki Commission.
