FORT PAYNE, Ala.-- A Fort Payne Police officer was involved in a traffic accident on Friday, April 7.

The officer, whose name has not been released, was responding to a holdup/panic alarm at a business when the police vehicle hydroplaned, and left the road, on Glenn Boulevard. 

The office received minor injuries and was transported to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. He was released later that day and is expected to make a full recovery, according to an update from the Fort Payne Police Department.
