Pisgah High School Senior
Story By Peggy M. Himburg
This week’s outstanding youth is valedictorian of her senior class, a leader at her school, and involved in many school activities. Julianne Davis is a senior at Pisgah High School.
Julianne is a member of the Beta Club, History Club, Spanish Club, NACCEE National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and participates in the Peer Helpers Program. She is a member of the Math Team and placed in the top ten in her category as a junior and again this year at the county tournament. As a member of the Beta Club, Julianne won awards at the State Beta Convention including second in French as well as first and third place in the fiber arts category.
This young lady was a member of Jackson County Junior Leadership and has been a student body representative. She was a VFW Voice of Democracy State of Alabama essay winner. She was chosen to represent her school at Alabama Girls State her junior year. She was awarded the Willard A. Isreal SAR Good Citizen Award.
Julianne was the 2024 Miss Beta and Senior Homecoming Attendant. She as the 2024 Prom Princess and 2024 PHS Pageant Queen.
Julianne is a member of the Lady Eagles Softball Team which made it all the way to the state championship games this year. She was on the 2023 Class 2A Area 15 All Area Tournament Softball Team. She was also named a 2023 UCA All American cheerleader.
Math is Julianne’s favorite school subject. “I love the satisfaction of solving a problem,” she adds. “I enjoy math because it makes me think outside the box.”
This top student would tell an upcoming freshman: “Don’t take a single moment for granted. Your choices now will matter later. Your mistakes do not define you, but how you fix them does. You are only responsible for what you can control, and you can always control your own actions. Don’t make decisions about your future based on the approval of others.”
“I love that my school not only cares about the students’ success in the classroom, but they also care about the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health of their students. My favorite thing about my high school is that it is more of a family than a community. Everybody knows everybody, and everyone supports and loves each other more like family than co-workers.”
Julianne owns Davis Designs, a painting business. She has volunteered at many events not only at her school but also in the Pisgah community. When this busy young lady has free time, she loves to sing and play the piano and guitar. She enjoys painting, playing pickleball, and spending time with her friends and family. She also works out at the gym.
Julianne is the daughter of Megan Garner, Bo Davis, and Mark Garner. Her siblings are Sawyer and Will Davis and Aubrey, Anna, and Atticus Garner. Her grandparents are Dale and Cathy Davis and Ira and Annette Brock. She is a member of the Breakthrough Church of God in Sylvania.
As she graduates from high school this month, Julianne is looking ahead to her future. She plans to attend the University of Alabama where she will study pre-law and minor in mathematics. She also plans to continue her painting business on the side.
