The Scottsboro Rotary Club will be holding its 2nd annual Halloween Spirit Run/Walk on Oct. 26 at Goose Pond Colony Resort, starting at 8 a.m. All profits from this event will go towards supporting scholarships for Scottsboro students.
The event will feature challenges ranging for kids in various age groups up to 18 years old that are free to enter.
There will also be face painting, costume contests and more available for all to enjoy. Businesses and individuals can sponsor this event by writing a check to the Scottsboro Rotary Club with “for 2nd annual Spirit Run” on the memo line. All of the sponsors’ logos will be printed on the back of t-shirts and on a banner that will be displayed during the event.
The Scottsboro Rotary Club was established in 1958, raising more than $800,000 in scholarship funds to Scottsboro High School seniors. Students are required to apply for scholarships by submitting an application, preparing and writing an essay and participating in an interview with the Scottsboro Rotary Club Board members.
