Christmas lights across parts of Jackson County

Residents don’t need to drive far to see pretty Christmas lights this year. Cities and towns across the county have light shows available for residents to see.
Scottsboro residents can walk through the Jingle Bell Trail in King Caldwell Park to see lots of beautiful Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses. People who missed the Nov. 30 kickoff should know that there will be another evening of hot chocolate and Santa at the trail on Dec. 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Julia Whitehead’s idea of having the trees at Caldwell Park helps bring the season to life. It allowed us to create additional nights for the community to enjoy with magical moments that included Santa and children laughing in the snow. Our vision is for this to grow and create more magic for the community to enjoy together,” Ashley Colon said.
Main Street Stevenson will have its lights available for the public to see each night this season. During the Lighting of Main Street on Dec. 3, Stevenson residents were treated to a fun evening. The Stevenson Public Library had refreshments for kids visiting with Santa. There was a cookie alley where kids could load up on sugar and the Michael Scott Learning Center had crafts for kids. Businesses set up Christmas displays in their windows and had giveaways.
There will be even more lights for residents to see after Stevenson’s Christmas parade on Dec. 10. Stevenson City Park will have its annual light show immediately following the parade. Lineup for the parade will be at 5 p.m in front of Stevenson Middle School.
“We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and hope everyone enjoys the city lights,” said Monica Davis of the City of Stevenson.
