Council on Aging to Give Free Food Boxes

HENAGAR, Ala. — The DeKalb County Council on Aging will hold a food drive to distribute free boxes of food at the Henagar City Park on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Boxes will be handed out from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The boxes of food will be free to all residents of Henagar and the surrounding areas regardless of age or income. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. There is no paperwork to fill out. Each box weighs 35 to 40 pounds and includes produce, meat, and dairy products.

The Henagar City Park is located at 150 Barron Drive in Henagar. The boxes will be handed out in the pool parking lot. Participants must stay in their car while staff members place the boxes in their vehicles.
