On Sept. 8, two events were held to raise money for Veterans Memorial Park. The day began with a benefit motorcycle ride and ended with a dinner and free bingo.
The Alabama Copperheads began their benefit ride at Gear Jammers. They drove to Fire on the Lake in Guntersville and then to Veterans Memorial Park. With the benefit ride, they raised $1,010 for the park.
At 4:30, Gear Jammers, Debbie Light and the law office of Edminston & Edminston, hosted a dinner with free bingo at Goose Pond Civic Center. The event raised $5,138 for Veterans Memorial Park.
“We just want to thank the community for stepping up and helping to support this cause,” Debbie Light said.
Veterans Memorial Park is located at 1616 Heroes Drive in Scottsboro.
