Celebrate Independence Day with three local festivities including a fireworks event in Hollywood, the annual Goose Pond Colony Independence Day Celebration with live music a fireworks show, and the Downtown Scottsboro Independence Day Celebration with a music, activities and a parade.  

July 3

Festivities for the July 4 Independence Day celebration for Jackson County will begin in Hollywood at the Mud Creek Baptist Church. The Faith, Fellowship and Fireworks event is scheduled for Thursday, July 3 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

“This event is an opportunity for everyone in our area to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as a nation, honor those who have served and sacrificed for those freedoms, strengthen the bonds of fellowship within our community, and honor our Lord for the greatest Independence of all,” said Dr. James Jeffery, Pastor of Mud Creek Baptist. “With family-friendly activities, music, fellowship, and fireworks, we aim to create a space where neighbors can connect, celebrate, and experience the love and hospitality that reflect the heart of our church.”

The Independence Day celebration will feature family activities, live music, fellowship, and a fireworks show. Activities include a bounce house, face painting, a mechanical bull, and sweet treats. Plus, food will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the North Jackson High School Track & Field Team.

July 4

Goose Pond Colony Resort will host their 43rd Annual Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 4. Live music begins at 6 p.m. and fireworks ignite at 9 p.m. Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and dancing shoes.

“The evening will be packed with live music, family thrills, and the most jaw-dropping free fireworks spectacle in North Alabama,” said Lyle Sosebee General Manager of Goose Pond Colony Resort. “There’s nothing like celebrating America’s birthday with epic music, family fun, and a fireworks show that’ll leave you speechless—all on the stunning Tennessee River at Goose Pond.”

Live music includes, Jess Goggans Band described as soul-shaking vibes, sultry Southern grit and high-octane energy. Her genre-bending “get down music” fuses funk, rock, and blues, backed by the Southeast’s top musicians.

Daniel Smith, a southern anthem legend, returns to belt out the National Anthem with a voice that’s graced University of Alabama games, the SEC Baseball Tournament, the Honda Indy Grand Prix, and beyond.

“We’re beyond grateful to the City of Scottsboro, Alabama Marine Police, Scottsboro Police Department, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department for helping us throw the ultimate patriotic party,” said Sosebee. “This year’s lineup is pure fire — music fans, you’re in for a treat!”

July 5

On Saturday, July 5 Downtown Scottsboro will host Independence Day celebration in downtown Scottsboro. The event is sponsored by Peoples Independent Bank. The all-day patriotic event offers live music, activities and games for children, vendors, and a parade. Bring lawn chairs for parade and music concert.

Attendees can start the day by visiting the downtown square businesses. The parade begins at 10 a.m. The patriotic parade will showcase decorated carts, marching bands, and community groups through the heart of the town. Anyone with a decorated golf cart, side-by-side, or other creative vehicle may participate. Participants are encouraged to deck out their golf carts and side-by-sides in red, white, and blue.

The Independence Day Community Band invites seasoned musicians or first-year members to be part of the performance. All current and former members of the color guard, dance line, and majorettes are invited. The performance will take place at 10 a.m. The lineup is at 9:30 a.m. by City Hall on the corner of Broad and W Peachtree. Live music from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  featuring the performance of BP & The Love Machine. The band offers high energy classic rock hits. The all-day downtown event is from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Downtown Scottsboro is located at 316 S. Broad St, Scottsboro.
