The days are starting to warm up and get longer which means the local farmers markets will be in full swing very soon.
Boaz Mayor David Dyar said renovations to the city’s farmers market were finished up last week. He said the typically busy market and its workers are ready for the season.
“We always love to see the market open back up each year,” he said. “It’ll be open six days a week and we’re really happy about the renovations. All the work done over there has made it look great.”
Dyar said among the renovations are new gutters, a new pad poured, a new fence and new landscaping.
“I’ve been to farmers markets all over north Alabama and there just aren’t many better than ours,” he said. “There haven’t been any renovations done to market since it opened. So, it was long overdue. The farmer’s market is something that’s very important to Boaz.”
The Boaz Farmer Market is located at 108 Line Street and is open Monday – Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weather permitting.
