The mayor reported that the paving had commenced. The process is estimated to take about two weeks to complete and dure for 14 days. During the 14 days the crew will work to complete the finish work. 

The demolition of the old Forest Avenue School has begun, and the debris is being removed. There is some discussion about creating some parking space but that has not been determined at this time.

The site for the future home of Marshalls is also being prepared for the new building. There are plans to widen the space behind the buildings to enable delivery trucks adequate space to maneuver.

Resolution 2025-27 to authorize an application for an airport improvement project was approved.

Resolution 2025-28 canvasing the elections on August 26, 2025, was approved.

The council agreed to schedule a work session to help bring the new council members up to date on current issues.

There were concerns about voters being registered. Update cards for some were sent out by the Secretary of State. Some voters may have not sent the updates in and may not be registered. 

Voters are encouraged to go to the polls for the run-off election on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
