6 events scheduled for last 2 weeks of October

Two separate events will be held at the Stevenson City Park. Stevenson will have a BINGO Fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 18 at the park. For $20 a participant receives 12 games and a chili/hotdog dinner. Each game will have a prize awarded. Seating is limited to 75 people. All proceeds go to benefit Stevenson non-profit organizations. For more information call 256-657-8701. The event is coordinated by the City of Stevenson Tourism Director Parker Edmiston. Doors open at the city park building at 5:30 p.m., games begin at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 19 everyone is invited to the Pumpkin Festival at the Stevenson City Park. This will be the first year for this festival. Vendors will be showcasing food, crafts, clothing, and more. Children may purchase a pumpkin to paint and take home, there will also be other activities for children at the event. Vendor products will include boutique clothing; custom designed (with patches) trucker hats (baseball caps); leather belts, purses, and wallets; sublimation T-shirts and cups; permanent jewelry; candles; baked goods; decorative pens; crocheted items; and more.
Food vendors will be selling fried Oreos, BBQ, funnel cakes, fried apple pies, fudge, hotdogs, and more. To become a vendor, call 256-244-1691. Spots for vendors are 10’x10’, some spots have electric available. The Pumpkin Festival is from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Stevenson City Park is located at 280 City Park Rd, Stevenson.
The Scottsboro Public Library will be hosting Book or Boo on Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. The library invites all ages to come dressed in a Halloween costume and collect some treats. The Scottsboro Public Library is located at 1002 S Broad St., Scottsboro.
On Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. – noon doctors Dennis Basila, MD and Benjamin Freeman, MD of Highlands Pediatrics invite the public to Kids Funfest at 102 Micah Way, Scottsboro. Game stations, face painting, pumpkin painting, music, cotton candy, and pony rides will be onsite. The Lion’s Club will be there with eye exams. The fire, police, and ambulance services will be there to allow children to see inside first responder vehicles.
Warehouse 207 invites the public to join them on Saturday, Oct. 26 for the Third Annual Play for a Cure Benefit. All proceeds go to Children’s of Alabama, Alabama’s only pediatric hospital dedicated solely to the healthcare of children. The goal of the event is to raise $5,000. Children’s of Alabama is a nonprofit organization. The Muddy Water band will be performing from 4 – 7 p.m., they will also have costume contests, trick or treating, games, and a silent auction. On Thursday, Oct. 31 Main Street Scottsboro invites everyone to Halloween on the Square for trick or treating from 5 – 8 p.m. at the downtown courthouse square (316 S Broad St, Scottsboro). Those interested in hosting a trunk or treat station, text or call 256-912-0520. Main Street Scottsboro is partnering with Downtown Redevelopment Authority for a storefront decorating contest. The public is invited to vote for their favorite storefront at City Hall starting Tuesday, Oct. 15. The winner will be announced at Halloween on the Square.
