The Scottsboro Lions Club Secretary Mark Pierson (second from right) was presented with highest recognition given to a Lion, a Melvin Jones Fellowship award (Melvin Jones founded the Lions).  Each award includes a donation of $1,000 which goes to the Lions Club International Foundation which funds such things as disasters, vision, humanitarian services and other similar charitable causes.  Lion Pierson has been the Club Secretary for 10 years and a member for 20 years.  The award was presented by the Lions 1st Vice District Governor Craig Gadow (center).  Also shown is Lions President John Powell (far left), Past Council Chair and Scottsboro Lions President Mechele Mosely (second from left), and Scottsboro 1st Vice President Josh Sherlin (far right).
