ALBERTVILLE — Howard Bentley Buick GMC was recognized by the United Way of Marshall County with the Star Award for the most improved 2024-2025 workforce campaign in raising funds for the local community.

Through the leadership and profound dedication by Howard Bentley Buick GMC’s United Way Campaign Coordinators, Jon Conner and Jacob Hollingsworth, the team made incredible improvements in achieving local impact by engaging all employees and emphasizing the vital work United Way does for the community. Their efforts resulted in a campaign improvement of over 60% in total contributions and an impressive 86% growth in employee participation.

“It’s amazing to be part of something that makes a real difference in so many lives,” said Jon Conner, general sales manager. “We’re so proud of our team for stepping up and supporting United Way’s mission with an amazing per capita gift of $75-$124, reflecting the generosity and commitment of our team.” 

Dealer principal, Taylor Bentley Conner, said, “The work we do with the United Way of Marshall County, with our workforce campaign and hands-on volunteering during Day of Caring is very special to us. We are making a difference where we live and work. I couldn’t be more proud of our work.” 

Howard Bentley Buick GMC was also recognized as one of the top 10 contributing companies to the campaign, alongside other standout organizations, including AlaTrade, BlueCross BlueShield, Citizens Bank & Trust, Paragon, Mitchell Grocery, Peoples Independent Bank, Progress Rail, Publix and Syncro Corporation.

For over 40 years, United Way of Marshall County’s dedicated volunteers and donors have been instrumental in researching the needs of the community and developing strategies to assist those who need it most, including children, families and individuals.

Through the funding of 22 partner agencies and programs, the organization ensures the efficient use of donor dollars, making a significant impact on the lives of those in Marshall County.
