The 2025 Scottsboro varsity boys soccer team achieved some program history this past season, and now several Wildcats have been recognized for their efforts.

Scottsboro’s Isaias Vicente, Aidan Allred and Patton Russell have been named all-state by the Alabama Soccer Coaches Association while Mateo Alvarez and Tristan Neeley were tabbed all-state honorable mention.

The players helped Scottsboro post a 9-12-4 record in 2025, qualify for the playoffs for only the second time since the program’s start in 2018 and win the program’s first playoff game, a 3-0 victory at Class 5A Area 14 champion Fairview. The Wildcats lost 2-1 in the second round of the AHSAA state playoffs to Area 13 rival Guntersville, the eventual Class 5A state champion.

Vicente, a center back, was named Class 5A first-team all-state. He capped his Scottsboro career with a strong senior season with 113 clearances,/blocks/intercepts and one assist.

Sophomore Aidan Allred was a Class 5A first-team all-state selection as a goal keeper after recording 105 saves in goal with five shutouts.

Junior fullback Patton Russell was named a Class 5A second-team all-state selection. Russell finished the 2025 season with five goals, four assists and 78 clearances/blocks/intercepts while also recording three saves during some time playing goal keeper.

Alvarez, an exchange student from Spain, was an all-state honorable mention after recording seven goals and nine assists from his center midfielder position. Neeley, a junior center back, was named all-state honorable mention after totaling 98 clearances/blocks/intercepts, one goal and two saves in goal.
