Williamson seeks Fort Payne council seat

Special to the Times-Journal

Local physician and small business owner Dr. Chad Williamson has officially announced his candidacy for Fort Payne City Council. A Fort Payne native, Dr. Williamson returned home a decade ago after completing medical school at UAB and his residency training, bringing with him a commitment to serve his hometown.

Since then, he has founded several local businesses, including DeKalb MD — Alabama’s first Direct Primary Care clinic — known for revolutionizing healthcare access by removing insurance barriers and restoring the doctor-patient relationship.

Now, Dr. Williamson is focused on bringing that same spirit of innovation and efficiency to Fort Payne’s local government.

“It’s time to simplify local government,” says Williamson. “Just like we simplified healthcare, we can streamline city operations and refocus on what truly matters: responsible spending, infrastructure, and empowering small businesses.”

His campaign emphasizes fiscal responsibility, smart invest

ment in infrastructure and streets, support for local businesses, and a strong future for our children. A firm believer in limited, transparent government, Dr. Williamson is committed to putting citizens first.

Dr. Williamson and his wife, Ashley, are proud parents to three children — Hayes, Hollis, and Hattie — and are active members of Word of Life Ministry in Fort Payne. In addition to his professional and civic work, Dr. Williamson serves as a major in the Alabama National Guard, with 16 years of service.

“With your support and your vote,” he says, “we can get Fort Payne back on track — and build a city that works for all its citizens.”
