DEKALB COUNTY, Ala.-- Ron Saferite has announced his candidacy for District 3 Commissioner of DeKalb County.
Saferite has lived in DeKalb County, high atop Lookout Mountain for most of his life.
He is a Fort Payne High School graduate, obtained his degree from Northeast Community College, and is a graduate of the Alabama Fire College from Shelton State.
Ron is married to Sabrina Parker Saferite. The couple has two children, Keisha Saferite Silver, Dustin Bradley, and his wife Mary Katherine Dunne Bradley. They are also proud grandparents to their grandson, Brantley Silver.
Saferite has 37 years of public service experience which began as a volunteer for the Adamsburg Volunteer Fire Department. He volunteered as a firefighter for Adamsburg for fourteen years. Starting as a dispatcher for the Fort Payne Fire Department, Saferite served in every capacity in his 31-year career. He retired as the Fort Payne Fire Chief.
While serving as the Fort Payne Fire Chief, Saferite operated on a multi-million dollar budget and has dealt with the public as a business owner.
In 2019, Saferite received the Top 20 Leadership Award for DeKalb County.
Saferite is a patriotic American, not a politician.
