FYFFE, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils defeated the Asbury Rams, 54-0 to break the State record for the most consecutive regular-season wins with 57.
With 10:29 remaining in the first quarter, Kyle Dukes sailed down the field for a 60-yard gain. Brodie Hicks brought it in from 5-yards out for the score. The kick was good, giving the Red Devils the early 7-0 advantage. Will Stephens dashed in from 4-yards out, with 7:49 remaining in the first. The point-after attempt made the score 14-0. With 5:45 remaining in the first, Ike Rowell came crashing in from 43-yards out to score. The PAT gave the Red Devils the 21-0 lead. Malachi Mize stampeded into the endzone from 53-yards out. The extra appoint attempt failed but the Red Devils closed out the first quarter with a 27-0 advantage over the Asbury Rams.
The Red Devils scored with 10:00 remaining in the first half, as Dukes walked in from 8-yards out, taking the 33-0 lead over Asbury. With 6:22 remaining in the first half, Hicks brought it in from 44-yards out to go into the half with the 40-0 advantage over Asbury.
With a running clock for the last half of the game, Hunter Machen scored on a 44-yard touchdown run, to make the score 47-0. Riley McBride scored the last Red Devil touchdown to shut out the Rams, 54-0.
Fyffe had 512 rushing yards for the night and held Asbury to -8 yards.
Due to COVID-19, the Scottsboro Wildcats will forfeit the game against Fyffe on Friday.
