FYFFE, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils defeated the North Sand Mountain Bisons 62-14 on Friday night and claimed the Class 2A, Region 8 Championship.
The first quarter saw the Fyffe Red Devils score on two touchdowns. The first touchdown was a quarterback keeper by Zach Pryon. The second was a 53-yard pass connection from Pryon to Brody Dalton.
Pryon added a 3-yard dash into the endzone to make the score 21-0, to start the second quarter. Ike Rowell showed up and showed out in the second quarter, scoring two touchdowns from two and five yards out. Pyron added another touchdown to his list, scoring on yet another quarterback keeper to make the score 42-0 going into the half.
Rowell returned the second half opening kickoff 75 yards to give the Red Devils the 49-0 advantage. Eli Benefied scored from 14 yards out on a pick-6 to end the third with the 56-0 advantage.
With less than 7:00 remaining in the game, Brodie Hicks scored the final Red Devil touchdown on a 5-yard gallop into the endzone, making the score 62-0. Cade Bell returned the following kickoff 85 yards for the touchdown, for North Sand Mountain, with 1:21 remaining in regulation play. The Bisons scored on a 38-yard pass connection from quarterback Landon Green to Derek Beadern to make the final score, 62-14.
Fyffe will travel to take on the Ider Hornets in region play on Friday night.
