FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the Fort Payne Police Department: Wednesday, March 7, 2018 Tomas Jacinto Tomas, Age 18, of Fort Payne, was arrested and charged with making a Terrorist Threat.
The investigation began after Fort Payne Police Department SRO Sgt. Matt Wilson received information that Tomas had posted a threatening message on Snap Chat.
Tomas was located and interviewed by Investigators with the Fort Payne Police Department. With the threat being made and alarming students in the Fort Payne City School system Tomas was charged with Making a Terrorist Threat.
This threat might not have been disclosed had it not been for a group of concerned students who cared about themselves, their friends and Fort Payne High School.
Tomas Jacinto Tomas is a former student of Fort Payne High School and is in jail at the Fort Payne Police Department. A bond was set for $10,000 and he will be transferred to the DeKalb County Jail.
This arrest is not related to the threat that was reported to the FBI tip line on Monday night that originated from Rochester, New York.
