MIDLAND CITY, Ala. — (Live Video at the Bottom) At 6 pm, the Roy Moore campaign will be holding it's "Drain the Swamp" Election Eve Rally with guests Steve Bannon and Texas Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert.
Polls will open tomorrow to decide the Special Election to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
In the final hours before the election, polls vary wildly; giving a very murky look at where the race stands as of right now. A Monmouth University poll shows the race in a dead heat, with "Moore and Jones each garner(ing) 46 percent of the likely electorate's stated vote intent, with 2 percent opting for a write-in candidate and 6 percent still undecided. A Fox News poll gave Jones 50 percent to Moore’s 40 percent, with 8 percent undecided and 2 percent supporting a write-in.
An Emerson College poll showing Roy Moore leading Jones by 9 percent, 53 percent to 44 percent, with a 3.9 percent margin of error was released today. The Real Clear Politics Average (Average of all reliable polling data) gives Moore a slight lead of 2.2 percent.
Earlier today, the Roy Moore campaign released a statement regarding the attempted suicide bombing in New York City this morning, and Moore pledged a commitment to, "implementing the President's travel ban, putting an end to sanctuary cities, building the wall and making America safer."
Full Statement from Roy Moore on this morning's terrorist attack:
"As we get news this morning of yet another radical Islamic terrorist attack, I am grateful that it appears no one was critically injured, and, as always, I am thankful for the quick action of law enforcement who have the suspect in custody. This incident underscores the continued threats our nation faces from those who want nothing more than to destory the freedoms we enjoy.
"In the United States Senate I will fight with President Trump for the increased safety of the American people and I will not mince words when it comes to calling out radical Islamic terrorism for the threat that it is. I am committed to implementing the President's travel ban, putting an end to sanctuary cities, building the wall and making America safer."
