Northeast Alabama Community College is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and you are invited to help us celebrate this milestone!
"Our staff and faculty have been working very hard planning the activities and events for the college's reunion," stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. "We encourage all our former students and community friends to come out and join us for what promises to be a great time. We are proud to celebrate those fifty years of the college with everyone!"
The weekend anniversary celebration will begin on Friday, April 10 with a concert by Jacob Stiefel & The Truth who will play for the college’s Spring Fling Dance in the Health and Fine Arts Building from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. Students and alumni are encouraged to attend. This free event is open to the public.
On Saturday, April 11, at noon, the celebration continues with a luncheon designated for NACC’s first class of 1965 will be held. This event is by invitation/reservation only as we recognize our first class in this special way.
Also on Saturday, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. a NACC Club and Group Social will be held on the NACC Quad. It is open to the public and all friends of the college and alumni are welcome. Current clubs and past clubs will be setting up tents for those who want to come by and visit with classmates and friends, such as a Miss Northeast tent, past Northeast Cheerleaders, Mu Alpha Theta, SGA, Retired Teachers and many, many more. There will be food and the NACC Alumni Jazz Band will be performing.
At 3 p.m. an Alumni Basketball game with alumni and current Northeast Basketball League (NBL) students will take place in the Beck Health and Fine Arts Building gymnasium. We invite you to participate in this fun event!
Beginning at 4 p.m. there will be Music by the Lake including some local favorites. Those performing will be Dr. Kathy Adkins and NACC Encore/Chorus; Jason Wilborn and the Bluegrass Ramblers (Stacey Peek, Jesse Daniel, Brett Gilbert and Rod Carter); Kenny Berry, Chris Grey and Chris Clark; and Weston Burt will close out the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and all friends of the college and alumni are welcome to attend this free concert. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the activities at the beautiful lake by the NACC Walking Trail.
The celebration will include great food vendors and inflatable bouncy houses for kids!
