It got late early in Ider on Friday night.
The Fyffe Red Devils scored on the opening drive with a Trent Thrash plunge and it was off to the races.
Fyffe Offensive Standouts:
Will Mashburn - 92 yards, 2 TDs
Trent Thrash - 112 yards, 2 TDs
Austin Stiefel - 106 yards, 2 TDs
Will Brown - 52 yards, TD
The defensive side of the ball was the story of the game, as the Red Devils suffocated the Hornets. At the end of the 1st quarter, Ider had -2 yards of offense and had amassed a total of 20 yards at the half.
Ider came out to open the 3rd quarter with a spark, but the drive eventually stalled and the Red Devils took over and drove the dagger home. The exclamation point was a pick-6 by Sophomore Eli Allen that made the score the 49-7 with 1:33 left in the game.
The Hornets will probably need to sleep with a CPAP mask for the next few nights while trying to recover from facing the Red Devils defense.
