RAINSVILLE, Ala. — Victory-Millbrook defeated the Cornerstone Christian Academy Eagles, 63-14 on Friday night.

With 5:42 remaining in the first quarter, Victory scored.  The point after attempt failed, making the score 6-0.  Layne Fortner intercepted the ball for the Eagles. Victory held them and forced them to punt.  Cornerstone recovered the ball but had to give back on downs. Victory scored two more times in the first quarter, making the score 20-0.

Layne Fortner caught a short pass and galloped down the field for the score. The extra point attempt failed. Victory added three more touchdowns before the end of the second quarter. The game went into a lightning delay at the half.

After the delay, the Eagles had a fumble recovery.  Trisitan Johnson scored with 5:19 remaining in the third quarter.  

Victory Millbrook proved why the team is a 3-time, 6-man Football State Champion in the fourth quarter, scoring at will against the Eagles, finishing with the 63-14 advantage.

For the Eagles, Layne Fortner had three catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. Tristian Johnson had 22 yards on two carries and one reception for a touchdown.  Lucas Hale went 5-of-27 for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
