Why "Heat Check"?

Why "Heat Check"?

Tonight at 8:00 PM is the Season 2 premiere of "Heat Check: A Season with the Plainview Bears"!

"Heat Check" is an all-access reality show from Southern Torch that documents the rise of the Plainview Bears (Rainsville, AL) basketball program under new Head Coach Robi Coker (Ole Miss).

Season 1 of the show was groundbreaking from an upstart media company located in the foothills of the Appalachians, the likes of which has never been seen. However, for Season 2 we wanted to make sure that this was a product that could rival the quality of any show produced in Hollywood.

Southern Torch has made significant additions to our production staff to bring you a product that could go head to head with anything produced on the West Coast.

People ask why Plainview, and why Plainview for a 2nd year? Why not choose another school? Fyffe had a historic season last year, Geraldine was undoubtedly going to be great and make a real run at Birmingham, Collinsville is as an interesting of a basketball program to cover as there is around. Why not Scottsboro or Guntersville or Gadsden City? Why Plainview?

1. There is no setting like the Coliseum.

2. The struggle of rebuilding the program drives the story.

3. Is the Plainview program being turned and can we capture that transition into what we believe is happening.

4. Robi Coker.

So, to all the fans of "Heat Check" we can't thank you enough for your support of the show. We're taking Season 2 to the next level for YOU.

And to all the haters...
