In an unorthodox move, the Young Republicans of Northeast Alabama have made official endorsements heading in to the June 3 Republican Primary.
The club was founded in February of 2013, and since that time have grown to 193 registered members making them the largest YR organization in the state of Alabama.
We are excited to announce that the Young Republicans of Northeast Alabama have officially endorsed candidates for the June 3 Republican Primary.
Some members of the Republican Party will frown upon us making endorsements in the primary election. They see it as an unwritten rule of sorts, even though these same people make their picks behind the scenes and stump for candidates. It's seen as inappropriate to choose "openly".
This club, our club, was not founded to "go along" and take what we get.
The YRNEA was founded to make a positive impact not only in our community, but our state as well. Over and over again we have repeated the message that we would not support a candidate just because they had an 'R' next to their name on the ballot and that the candidate must be qualified and able to competently lead us in to the future.
We have great faith in the drive, vision and leadership of these candidates for what they will do for DeKalb County and the state of Alabama.

- Adam Thompson (R) for State Auditor
- Jonathan Barbee (R) for Public Service Commission Place 2
- Tyler Wilks (R) for DeKalb County Revenue Commissioner
- Scotty Vaughn (R) for State Executive Committee Place 3
