Accused murderer apprehended by the Fort Payne Police Department

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — On March 29th Fort Payne Police Officers were called to two white males walking northbound on Interstate 59 near the 223 mile marker. One subject was identified as Sean Scott Hale, age 25 of Cleveland Tennessee with a Felony Warrant for Murder out of Bradley County Tennessee.

Hale was detained and transported to Fort Payne City Jail.  Mr. Hale appeared in Circuit Court on today’s date and signed a waiver to be extradited to Bradley County Tennessee on a Warrant for Murder in the first degree.  

Cleveland Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division detectives began an investigation on March 23 into the disappearance of Thomas Creek, Jr., 34, who was reported missing by a family member.

Information received by investigators revealed that foul play might have been involved in his disappearance. Further investigation led them to a remote area of Polk County where detectives discovered the body of Mr. Creek.

Investigators believed that Sean Scott Hale is responsible for the disappearance and murder of Thomas Creek, Jr.
