Rams Dominate Brindlee Mountain

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — The Sylvania Rams picked up their first region win last Friday night after shutting out the Brindlee Mountain Lions, 63-0.

The Rams began with a kickoff return before a 48-yard score by Gareth Anderson gave them an early lead with 11:39 remaining in the first. The PAT was good to make the score, 7-0. On the following possession, Sylvania went five plays before Fisher Goza scored with 7:55 remaining in the first. The extra point made the score 14-0.

With 4:50 left in the first quarter, the Rams’ Nathan King scored again and the kick made it 21-0. With 2:11 remaining in the first, Jordan Johnson set up another Sylvania touchdown allowing Gareth Anderson to score again, bringing the score to 28-0.

In the second quarter, the Rams forced a punt and Mason Sanders scored for Sylvania with 11:53 in the half. The PAT was good making the score 35-0. After recovering a Brindlee Mountain fumble, Sylvania’s Colby Goodnight scored another touchdown with 10:07 left in the second, bringing the score to 42-0. Sylvania forced another punt at 6:12 left in the first half allowing CJ McClain to score on a 16-yard run to broaden their lead to 49-0. Brayden Harris dashed into the endzone with 3:30 on the clock to make the score 56-0.

The clock was running during the entire second half of the ball game. With 2:26 left in the third quarter, Luke Darwin scored from three yards out giving the Rams their final score of 63-0.

The Sylvania Rams will host New Hope at home on Friday night.
