RAINSVILLE, Ala. — At this week's DeKalb County Board of Education meeting, Nick "Rudy" Ledbetter was named as the new Head Football Coach for the Plainview Bears.

Ledbetter is an alumnus of Plainview High School and began his career at Plainview as a volunteer coach in the fall of 2000.

"I would like to thank Westley King, Coach Matt Putnam, the staff and all the student athletes at Sylvania," said Ledbetter. "I cannot express how good they have been to my family and I. It has been an honor to coach the young men at Sylvania."

"I appreciate Dr. Barnett, Mr. Richards, and the Board members for the trust and opportunity to lead the football program at Plainview. My family and I put our faith in God to always lead us in the direction He lays before us."

"I am excited to be back home where I was raised by the community and the place where I learned how to play the game of football. We're excited to work with the Rainsville community in building strong, dependent young men to be good husbands and fathers."

"I take this position in leading the student athletes very seriously," he continued. "It is a true honor to have been considered for this job and I do not take lightly the other good, qualified candidates who interviewed and applied."

"This is home and where the Lord leads, we will follow. Too Much Blue!" he concluded.
