Harcrow Elected CRS Chairman

By Staff Reports

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — DeKalb County Commission President Ricky Harcrow has been elected Chairman of the Board of Director of County Risk Services Inc. (CRS), a non-profit corporation that will provide administrative and support services for Alabama’s county governments.

“Ricky’s election is another testimony to the leadership role he plays statewide,” said Sonny Brasfield, Executive Director of the Association of County Commission of Alabama. “This new corporation will allow for a more effective and efficient delivery of services that protect and defend county employees and officials all over our state.”

The new company will provide administrative and claims services, safety assistance, underwriting and legal expertise for counties that are members of the workers’ compensation, liability or property insurance funds made available through the Association. Brasfield said the new operation will begin in early 2019.

Blount County Probate Judge Chris Green will serve as Vice-Chairman of CRS and is a former member of the insurance fund’s board of trustees. Harcrow is a former president of the Association and continues to serve on its board of directors.

“County government’s services are vital to the economic health of our state,” Brasfield concluded. “It’s important we provide proper healthcare to our injured workers, protect the public’s investment in our buildings and equipment, and defend counties against lawsuits. We are grateful Ricky will invest his time and talents to help us move this project forward and to better serve our state.”

In its 90th year of service to Alabama’s county governments, the Association provides legal, technical, educational and policy support of and for the state’s county governments. The Association’s activities focus on “67 Counties, ONE Voice” to enhance, protect and expand the services essential to Alabama’s future.
