FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Earlier today, a tractor and SUV collided on Highway 11 in the Fort Payne City limits. The driver of the SUV was taken by means of LifeFlight to Erlanger in Chattanooga. The driver of the tractor was taken by ambulance to DeKalb Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
The Fort Payne Fire Department, DeKalb Ambulance Service, and Fort Payne Police Department responded to the scene. The tractor was transporting a hay baler when the SUV hit it head on.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released. We'll update with more information when it becomes available, and enough time elapses to ensure family's have been notified.
