IDER, Ala. — On Friday at approximately 5:30 pm, an employee with the Town of Ider was arrested regarding theft from the town.

Pamela Thompson Harris was arrested on four felony charges. She was an eighteen month employee of Ider, and her job description involved payroll and accounts receivable.

Ider Police Chief Buddy Crabtree said it appeared, "the theft started around late 2016."

When asked how much was stolen from the city, Crabtree stated, "we can say it involved tens of thousands of dollars."

"We investigated, called in an auditor, presented to the District Attorney's office, and came back with four felony warrants," Crabtree explained.

Harris was transported to the DeKalb County Jail, and was released on bail that evening.
