Grove Oak man arrested for attempting to pass counterfeit money

LEESBURG, Ala. — Leesburg Police Officer Jimmy Deberry and Sheriff’s Office Investigators Shawn Rogers and Jeremy Stepps responded to a business in Leesburg on Tuesday and discovered the suspect was attempting to pass counterfeit U.S. currency.

Todd O. Jackson, 41 of Grove Oak, was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.  Investigators recovered counterfeit money from the suspect and his vehicle.
