FORT PAYNE, Ala. — The following are reported incidents, arrests, and accidents from the Fort Payne Police Department for Friday, May 12 – Thursday, May 18.

FRIDAY, May 12

  • Reported Incidents (5/12)
    • Change Bill Circulating – Occurred at 1800 Gault Ave N, a $20.00 bill was counterfeit
    • Identity Theft – Occurred at 406 19th Street NE, charges of $5000.00 were made without authorization
  • Reported Arrests (5/12)
    • Shelby Cheyanne Jackson, age 20 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at 12:27 am
    • Bradley C Frederick, age 37 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Hindering Prosecution at 8:54 pm
    • Juan Pascual Miguel, age 55 of Rainsville, was arrested for Public Intoxication at 9:12 pm
    • Amanda Rose Hattabaugh, age 37 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Using False Identity to Obstruct Justice at 8:54 pm
    • Angel Roquelino Cruz, age 33 of Valley Head, was arrested for DUI and Public Intoxication at 10:27 pm
  • Reported Accidents (5/12) 
    • An accident occurred at I-59 and Greenhill Blvd NW, Angel Roquelino Cruz, age 33 of Valley Head, driving a 2008 Mitsubishi, left the roadway and struck a tree. Randy Leonardo Cruz Aguirre, age 26 of Fort Payne, was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service.

SATURDAY, May 13

  • Reported Incidents (5/13)
    • Criminal Mischief – Occurred at 1602 Whitehall Lane NW, two headstones were damaged, valued at $200.00
    • Recovered Stolen Property – Occurred at 1116 Grand Ave NW, a Huffy bicycle was recovered, valued at $79.97
  • Reported Arrests (5/13)
    • Layne Heath Gerbig, age 21 of Sylvania, was arrested on a Warrant for Outside Agency at 2:17 am
    • Juan Ailon Raymundo, age 19 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Public Intoxication, Underage Consumption of Alcohol, and Possession of a Forged Instrument at 9:42 pm

SUNDAY, May 14

  • Reported Incidents (5/14)
    • Criminal Mischief – Occurred at 156 45th Street NW, a metal roll up door and track were damaged, valued at $1000.00
  • Reported Arrests (5/14)
    • Tabatha Denise Baldwin, age 31 of Fort Payne, was arrested on a Warrant for Public Intoxication at 2:28 am
    • Roger Scott Sharp, age 39 of Valley Head, was arrested on Two Charges for Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at 9:10 pm
    • Leslie Suzanne Spears, age 33 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at 9:10 pm
  • Reported Accidents (5/14)
    • An accident occurred at I-59 northbound near Greenhill Blvd NW.  Jane Umag Blum, age 54 of Albrightsville, PA, driving a 1986 Chevrolet motorhome, left the roadway and overturned. Mrs. Blum was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service and Michael Marshall Blum age 65 of Albrightsville, was transported To Erlanger Medical Center by Dekalb Ambulance Service.

MONDAY, May 15

  • Reported Incidents (5/15)
    • Criminal Mischief – Occurred at 3712 Clark Ave NE, two tires on a 2008 Jeep Patriot were damaged, valued at 500.00
    • Theft of Property – Occurred at 104 19th Street NW, a Samsung Galaxy cell phone was taken, valued at $44.00
    • Theft of Property – Occurred at 1001 Watkins Ave NE, $120.00 in currency was taken
    • Burglary – Occurred at 3018 Gault Ave S, two antique lamps, an HP laptop, five wooden boxes, jewelry box and jewelry, thirty-five figurines, four salt spoons, a security chest, two wooden chest, three rings, a gold necklace, a tote, a Bible, four cookie jars and five birdhouses were taken, valued at $3170.00

    • Tiffany Danee Thompson, age 28 of Fort Payne, was arrested on a Warrant for Theft of Property at 11:38 am
    • William Lane Poe, age 33 of Fort Payne, was arrested on a Warrant for Outside Agency at 9:47 pm

    • Criminal Mischief – Occurred at 500 Turner Ave SE, a gutter extension was damaged, valued at $20.00
    • Burglary – Occurred at 106 Dogtown Road SE, two flat screen TV’s, a Sony DVD player, PlayStation, 45 games, Xbox 360, and two Guitar Hero games were taken, valued at $2620.00
    • Damaged Vehicle – Occurred at 1303 Gault Ave N, passenger doors on a 2008 GMC Acadia were damaged, valued at $1500.00
    • Theft of Property – Occurred at 601 Greenhill Blvd NW Apt A 107, a hanging basket plant was taken, valued at $20.00
  • Reported Arrests (5/18)
    • Leslie Suzanne Spears, age 33 of Valley Head, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance at 1:10 am
    • Willie Taquorius Pope, age 23 of Blythewood, SC, was arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest at 9:07 pm
  • Reported Accidents (5/18)
    • 3 Accidents with 2 Fatalities
      • At approximately 11:45 pm last night a one car accident occurred on Godfrey Ave S around the 1500 block.  A 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by Gage LaMichael Howard, age 22 of Fort Payne, lost control of the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a tree. The vehicle came to rest at a private residence’s yard. Also in the vehicle was Kelsey Ashton Smith, age 24 of Fort Payne.  Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
