Mentone man caught with a large amount of marijuana and pills

FORT PAYNE, Ala.— According to the Fort Payne Police Department: Byrum Thomas Emory, age 19 of Mentone, was arrested on January 14th and charged with the following; Possession of Marijuana 1st, which consisted of a sizable amount of Marijuana.

Emory also had in his possession a large number of pills and was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Emory also had two sets of digital scales, small plastic baggies and a large amount of cash.  

This traffic stop was initiated by Patrolman Matt Jones and Patrolman Nick Hill, also assisting in the arrest was DeKalb County Sheriff Deputy and his K-9. 

This is the second arrest in a short amount of time that has taken a large amount of Marijuana and Pills off the streets. We appreciate the public’s continued help in making these arrests and the diligent efforts of our patrol officers.
