Woman arrested for DUI at Fort Payne Middle School when she arrived to get her child

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the Fort Payne Police Department: On Thursday November 30th, at approximately 3:30 pm Mary Elizabeth Stevenson, age 37 of Fort Payne was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  

SRO Patrick Jenkins received a report that Stevenson was enroute to pick up a child at Fort Payne Middle School and she was possibly intoxicated.  The charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child stemmed from the suspect having a child with her in the vehicle when she arrived at Fort Payne Middle School.  Stevenson was arrested and transported to Fort Payne Police Department where she was booked without incident. Her bond was set at $1000.00 per charge.
