Two arrested after Federal agents raid home in Centre

CENTRE, Ala. — According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver: Cherokee County Deputies assisted the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in the execution of a federal search warrant on Tuesday at a residence located on Powell Drive in Centre.

The search warrant was the result of a cooperative investigation between Sheriff’s Office investigators and ATF agents over the past several months.  A significant amount of methamphetamine, including an illegal lab, and firearms were recovered during the execution of the search warrant. There were two individuals at the residence and both were taken into custody.

Jeff J. Lowe, 58, of Centre was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, first degree manufacturing, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The second suspect, Janice M. Lowe, 61, of Centre, was charged with trafficking of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Janice Lowe was also arrested on 15 outstanding warrants for various charges including unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property.
