FORT PAYNE, Ala. — (Updated at 3:01 pm, Friday, November 17, 2017) Chief Randy Bynum of the Fort Payne Police Department Stated: "Rachel Golden Lee, age 49 of Burke Drive NW, was arrested for Harassment at a basketball game at the Fort Payne Middle School Thursday night November 16.

I want to commend the school administration and SRO Patrick Jenkins for handling this matter in a quick and efficient manner. While these types of incidences are rare this type of behavior is highly illegal and will not be condoned by Fort Payne City Schools or Fort Payne Police Department."

According to sources close to the family, Lee's son was knocked down by another player during the game, causing an injury. When she and her husband went to check on him, she reacted angrily (swatted) towards the offending player.
