Two arrested after stolen car found in Henagar

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — On June 3rd Chief Randell Smith with Henagar Police Department got a tip about a stolen vehicle from Gadsden being at a residence on Highway 75 in Henagar.

Chief Smith then called DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies and Ider Police Department to assist in the recovery of the vehicle. When Officers arrived at the residence the owner of the residence Rayford Levoy Goodridge, 54 of Henagar, came to the door, Officers asked if suspect James Christopher Arsenault, 26 of Valley Head was at the residence. Goodridge stated that Arsenault was not there.

In the process of talking to Goodridge and other individuals that were at the residence, they found Arsenault hiding from officers inside the residence. Arsenault stated that he had been driving the stolen vehicle and was found with drugs on his persons. Arsenault was arrested for two warrant of Failure to Appear and charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Goodridge was also arrested for Hindering Prosecution 1st.
