First Responders Appreciation Fish Fry

On Tuesday evening Alabama State Representative Wes Long (HD-27) hosted a First Responders Appreciation Catfish Fry at the Grove Oak Volunteer Fire Department.

"I want to thank all our first responders for their service to our community and for the extraordinary effort that helped pull us through the natural disasters we have experienced over the last several years."

- Wes Long

Long now represents the Grove Oak and Buck's Pocket portion of DeKalb County following the redistricting that took place in October 2012.

There were a number of elected officials present, including:

  • Senator Clay Scofield
  • Sheriff Jimmy Harris
  • Commissioner Derek Caldwell
  • Judge Steve Whitmire
  • Representative Kerry Rich

The event was free to the public and had approximately 100 people in attendance.
