PISGAH, Ala.– It all started in the year of 1947, when Lloyd and Ruby Meeks built a grain and gin company in the small town of Pisgah, Alabama.

Together they ran and operated the company until 1975. Little did they know, the grain and gin company that they had established would turn into a unique venue that over thousands of people would see and hear about.

Andrew, the grandson of Lloyd and Ruby Meeks, along with his wife Whitney, reclaimed and remodeled the almost forty year old gin for use as a venue. The gin was so tattered and damaged from being grown up in thick brush, that many didn't even notice it was there.

Through lots of hard work, Meeks Grain and Gin has become extremely successful in hosting weddings and numerous other events.

On December 3rd, 2016, Meeks Grain and Gin will be hosting its annual Christmas at the Gin. The event will be located on 2066 County Road 58 Pisgah, AL from 2 to 8 pm. Pictures with Santa will be from 5 to 8 pm and plenty of tasty baked goods will be available. Christmas at the Gin will also house a number of craft vendors that you won't want to miss.

Christmas at the Gin is an opportunity for children in the area who may not get to do many fun Christmas activities. It will be free to get in, and each child will get a cupcake. "It's really just all about the kids," says Whitney.

The purpose of Christmas at the Gin is to provide less fortunate children with a Christmas experience that they will never forget.

Be sure to come out to Christmas at the Gin on December 3 and enjoy the Christmas festivities and rustic charm that it offers.
