FORT PAYNE, Ala. — The Summit is a faith based 12-month residential recovery and intensive discipleship program for women struggling with life controlling problems including drugs and alcohol. This ministry is a non-profit corporation established in September 2016. The Summit resides on a 96 acre property including three homes and was miraculously gifted to this ministry by Chick-fil-A, Truett Cathy Foundation.

The Summit will provide a highly structured program with trained and skilled professionals. It is under the umbrella of The DeKalb Baptist Association and will be funded entirely by churches, organizations, and individuals. It will not receive any state or federal funds. The Summit is a 501(c)(3) Corporation and has a 10 member Board of Directors.

We are very honored and truly blessed to have such a program in place to serve women right here in our local area of Fort Payne. We want everyone who is interested to be a part of this ministry in any way that they feel led to serve. There are many ways that you can be a part of this program and to help in making it the success that we are already seeing it is destined to become.

Ways you can help - you can donate - a one time donation or a monthly or annual donation. If among the first 100 to sign up you can become a Gold Member by donating $50.00 per month. Corporate Sponsorships are a donation of $500.00.

The Nazareth Baptist Church Life Center, will be holding a silent auction and banquet this Saturday. All proceeds will go to support The Summit. The event will be at 6 pm at Nazareth Baptist Church Life Center in Rainsville. Tickets will go on sale soon. To donate items for the silent auction, call 256.601.1008.

Many individuals, groups, organizations, and churches are pledging set amounts to be donated each month. Volunteer Helpers - these people are critical and invaluable to The Summit. We need plumbers, electricians, carpenters, lawn care providers, teachers, mentors, people to teach crafts, sewing, quilting, cooking, music, exercise, supervise hiking and other outdoor activities, and people or small groups of people to prepare, serve a meal, and fellowship with the residents. The Summit's planned opening is February 2017.
