Tigers Stand Strong

GAYLESVILLE, Ala. — The Valley Head Tigers defeated rival Gaylesville, 34-28 on Friday night. 

The Tigers took the early lead in the first quarter with touchdowns by Ian Baine and Jordan Burt.  The Tigers led Gaylesville 12-0 with 5:30 remaining in the first. Gaylesville scored and went for two, narrowing the lead to 12-8 with 1:19 remaining in the first half. After a field goal by Noah Hulgan, the Valley Head Tigers took the 15-8 advantage into the half. 

Valley Head scored with 4:50 remaining in the third to take the 21-8 lead. With 1:07 remaining in the third quarter, Gaylesville scored to make the score 21-14. As fans were on the edge of their seats in the fourth quarter, Valley Head scored, with 9:06 remaining in the game to take the 27-14 lead. Gaylesville cut the lead to 27-22 with 5:52 remaining in the game. Bryson Morgan raced down the field for 85-yards, making the score 34-22.  As time was running out of the game. Gaylesville made their final stand, scoring with 1:44 remaining, to make the final score 34-28. 

Valley Head will host the Ider Hornets on Friday night.
