Red Devils Shutout NSM

FYFFE, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils and the North Sand Mountain Bisons met on Friday, with both teams being undefeated. Fyffe shutout North Sand Mountain, 55-0,  increasing their reign of terror on local high school football teams.  

Hunter Gillilan filled in as quarterback for the Fyffe Red Devils.  He had an excellent game, scoring three touchdowns for the night and passing for one.  His passing touchdown occurred with 4:13 remaining in the first quarter, on a 16-yard touchdown connection to Brody Dalton, giving the Devils the early 7-0 advantage. 

With 11:16 remaining in the second quarter, Hunter Gillilan scored his first touchdown of the night, from 4 yards out, to give Fyffe the 14-0 lead.   With 5:59 remaining before the half,  Gillilan walked one in from 2-yards out, to take the 21-0 advantage.  With  3:33 remaining in the first half, Kyle Dukes brought one in from 30-yards out, making the score 28-0.  Gilliam scored from 2-yards out to make the score, 35-0 going into the half.

Kyle Dukes started the scoring for the Red Devils in the second half, as he bulldozed his way in from 5-yards out with 8:10 remaining in the third. With 6:33 in the third, Brody Hicks took one around the right end,  for a 17-yard touchdown, making the score 49-0.

The Fyffe Red Devils scored their final touchdown of the night as Hicks brought it in from 7 yards out, with 5:30 remaining in the game, to make the final,  55-0. 

The Fyffe Red Devils had a total of 349 yards for the night. Gillilan ran for 105 yards on 11 carries for the night. Tyler Machen had 60 yards on two carries.  Brody Hicks ran for 51 yards on six attempts.  

Fyffe will host the Geraldine Bulldogs in Region play on Friday.  North Sand Mountain will host Whitesburg Christian.
